WELCOME TO HORRABRIDGE
Situated on the banks of the River Walkham, Horrabridge is an ancient village on
the western fringes of the Dartmoor National Park. It was once a key crossing point on the route
from Plymouth to Tavistock and London.
Horrabridge is ideally located for those who love walking, riding, cycling or
fishing and there are bed and breakfast venues and a campsite within the village
boundaries. The population of the village has grown noticeably since the 1950s
and it currently stands at just over 2000.
There are regular bus services to and from Plymouth and Tavistock.
The village has its own primary school and there are many different
organisations that cater for all age groups. There are two pubs (The Leaping
Salmon and the London Inn) both of which serve meals as well as drinks. The
village contains a small range of shops including a post office, two hairdressers, general store,
a florist, an antique shop and an award winning fish and chip shop.
